Competition and Industrial Policy in the European Community

This reissue (1983) examines the economic policies of the European Economic Community and the European Coal and Steel Community. It explains how the common market was established and maintained. Free competition cannot be created merely by removing customs duties and quotas: other non-tariff barriers which impede free movement must be removed.
