This book examines the thought of German international relations scholar Ludwig Dehio and his insight into the dynamics of hegemonic conflicts. It analyzes the various attempts to conquer the European continent from the Hellenistic period to the twentieth century and how these bids for power relate to contemporary American grand strategy.
