Provides hands-on details of important techniques for the study of liquid crystals and other soft-condensed matter systems. Each chapter is dedicated to an experimental technique and discusses both its capabilities and limitations. In addition, general routes used to synthesise liquid crystals and tools to characterise liquid crystal phases are described.
