New Earth Reinforcement Method Using Soilbags

Using soilbags for earth reinforcement is an effective and economical alternative to classic methods. This text describes development procedures, mechanical properties and characteristics and construction design features of soilbags. Applications in railway ballast foundation reinforcement, soft building foundation reinforcement and retaining wall and embankment construction are discussed.
